Funeral Notice

Rev. Francisco Xavier Chan Pou Chun of the Diocese of Macau died in the Lord at the Macau Union Hospital on 31st May 2026. He was 89 years old.

A Brief Chronology of Father Chan:

5th March 1937: Born in Macau

21st April 1938: Baptised at St. Lazarus Church

28th June 1964:  Ordained priest

Father Chan served as: Chaplain, Casa de Benificência; Legion of Mary Chaplain; Parochial Vicar, St. Lazarus Parish; Director, Catechetical Formation Center; Parichial Vicar and Parish Priest, St. Anthony Parish; Parochial Vicar, Sé Cathedral Parish; Director, John XXIII Social Center; Chaplain, Caritas Elderly Homes; Parish Priest, Our Lady of Carmel Parish; Director, Escola Dom João Paulino; Parish Priest, Our Lady of Fatima Parish; Parish Priest, St. Lawrence Parish, among others.

As a pious and caring priest, Father Chan carried out his pastoral duties serving many faithful in different areas. May God reward his life-long service. 

The vigil Mass for Father Chan is scheduled for Friday, 12th June 2026, 8pm, at St. Anthony Church. The funeral liturgy will be in the morning of Saturday, 13th June 2026. The coffin will be brought to St. Lazarus Church at 10am, followed by the Funeral Mass at 11am. The burial will take place at St. Michael's Cemetery after Holy Mass.
