Pastoral Appointments 

Bishop Stephen Lee Bun Sang announces the following pastoral appointments, effective 1st November 2025:

1. Parishes

• Rev. Joseph Nguyen Van Nam, SCJ, is to be appointed Parochial Vicar of St. Lawrence Parish. 

• The Diocese shall entrust the pastoral work of Our Lady of Sorrows Chapel (Ká-Hó) to the Congregation of the Priests of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (Dehonian Fathers), with Rev. Zdzislaw Stanislaw Plawecki, SCJ, to be appointed as the Chaplain.  

2. Pastoral Care for Migrant Workers

• Rev. Sheldon Eric D'Souza ceases to be the Assistant Director of the Filipino Pastoral Center. 

• The Filipino Pastoral Center shall be renamed The Catholic Pastoral Center for Migrant Workers, under the direction of the following two priests: 

• Director: Rev. Raymund Enriquez Gaspar

• Assistant Director: Rev. Ian Rio Vicente M. Dacayanan, CMF

Meanwhile, within the structure of the aforesaid Pastoral Center for Migrant Workers, the following chaplaincies are hereby established, and the following three priests of the Society of the Divine Word are appointed thereto:

Chaplains for Vietnamese Catholics: Rev. John Baptist Le Van Ba, SVD, and Rev. Peter Hoang Van Hien, SVD

Chaplain for Indonesian Catholics: Rev. Natalius Suryanto, SVD

3. Hospital Chaplaincy 

• Rev. José Ángel Catellanos Hernández, SVD, and Rev. Edgar Palomo Pasaporte, SSP cease to be Chaplains of Conde de São Januário General Hospital. 

• The following two priests are to be appointed Chaplains responsible for coordinating the pastoral care at the major hospitals in Macao (S. Januário, Kiang Wu, MUST Hospital, Union Hospital): 

• Hospital Chaplain: Rev. Sheldon Eric D'Souza

• Assistant Hospital Chaplain: Rev. José Oliveira Marques

• Hospital Chaplaincy Service Hotline: 6658 0706 (answered by chaplaincy coordinator; WhatsApp messages)

4. Prison Chaplaincy

• Prison Chaplain: Rev. Sheldon Eric D'Souza

• Assistant Prison Chaplain: Rev. José Ángel Catellanos Hernández, SVD

5. Caritas Macau 

• Rev. José Ángel Catellanos Hernández, SVD ceases to be Chaplain at Caritas Macau. 

• Rev. José Oliveira Marques is to be appointed Pastoral Director for Caritas Macau responsible for coordinating the pastoral care of various institutions of Caritas Macau.

6. Schools and Nurseries

Rev. José Ángel Catellanos Hernández, SVD, is to be appointed Chaplain to the following institutions: 

• Caritas de Macau School 

• St. John de Brito School 

• Creche Diocesana Helen Liang

• Saint Joseph International Nursery
